Maserati dealership opening in Winnetka, more auto news

In celebration of the grand opening of its new Maserati home located in Winnetka, Illinois, Fields Maserati is holding two private receptions.

Guests will have the opportunity, among other things, to see and test-drive the latest Maserati models.

The dates are Friday, Nov. 6, 12-5 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served both days.

—Games people play: In artist/video-game developer Randy Yang's latest project, "Rinse and Repeat," the user is positioned in a communal locker room shower with a number of other bathing men, The Huffington Post noted. One man walks in, addresses the player as "Guy!," and soon asks for help scrubbing his back—and other areas—as he showers. Yang has incorporated sex and sexuality in several video games, including "Stick Shift," which involves giving a car a hand job.

—Recall: Hyundai is recalling nearly a half-million midsize cars in the United States to replace the engines because a manufacturing problem could cause them to fail, the Associated Press reported. The recall covers 470,000 Sonata sedans from the 2011 and 2012 model years equipped with two- or 2.4-liter gasoline engines. ( The company also is recalling nearly 100,000 Accent small cars because the brake lights can fail. ) At the time, the Sonata was Hyundai's top-selling vehicle in the country.

—Recall, part two: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is recalling 180,000 SUVs and trucks in two recalls for potentially faulty rear axles and fire risks from air-conditioning lines, The Detroit News noted. The Italian-American automaker is recalling nearly 94,000 2015 Jeep Cherokee SUVs to inspect and if needed replace vehicle air-conditioning lines. Fiat Chrysler will also recall 86,000 2015-2016 Ram pickups to inspect and replace if needed the rear axle shafts or rear axles.

—Same-sex marriage is like car seats?: Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson recently compared allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry to requiring that car seats accommodate conjoined twins and anatomically normal children, according to On Top Magazine. Carson made the analogy in his latest book, titled A More Perfect Union. "Changing the law governing the normal situation in order to accommodate the abnormal situation is like requiring that car seats be designed to accommodate conjoined twins as well as anatomically normal children," Carson wrote.
