From Halloween events to benefits, the fall seems to have it all for pet lovers.

—Thursday, Oct. 16, 6:30 p.m.-10 p.m. 'It's Raining Cats & Dogs' at The Anti-Cruelty Society, 510 N. LaSalle. The cost is $125 per person in advance and $140 at the door, with a reserved table for four with parking costing $600. There will be a variety of tastings from top Chicago chefs, along with wine, beer and other bar offerings. —Saturday, Oct. 18, 1-4 p.m. The 8th Annual Puptown Howl-O-Ween Party & Costume Contest, at Lawrence and Marine, is a benefit to raise funds for fencing and park maintenance. The raffle's grand prize is $300, with additional raffle prizes including gift certificates to area restaurants, dog stores and more. Judges will include Alderman Mary Ann Smith. —Saturday, Oct. 18, Tree House Animal Foundation's 1st Annual Hair Ball Spin Nightclub, 800 W. Belmont, 7-10 p.m. It's a wild theatrical Cats in Space-themed hair fashion show, with tunes from DJ Demchuk, and it will be emceed by Miss Foozie. —Saturday, Oct. 25, 12:30 p.m. The 4th Annual Howl-o-Ween Dog Parade and Costume Contest will take place at Ravenswood and Carmen. —Saturday, Oct. 25, Anti-Cruelty's Howl-o-Ween will happen 10 a.m.–7 p.m. at Festival Hall B at the east end of Navy Pier, 800 E. Grand. Pets are welcome. There will be goody bags for the first 500 participants, pet massage and CPR, with rows and rows of pet-related booths. See Article Link Here .

PET FOR ADOPTION: CHESTER

Chester is a flat-coat retriever/border collie; he's a 1-year-old, 45-lb. altered male. He's housetrained and current on shots. Chester is a great big sweetheart of a guy who gets along well with other dogs and everybody he meets. He's playful and happy, and would make a good addition to any household.
