Every time I sit down to write my IML weekend column, I'm reminded of my friend Dave. Each year I make some idiotic joke about cows living in fear of this weekend ( cows, leather, get it? ) . Dave thinks this is remarkably strange, as do, I'm sure, many of you. Well, shouldn't we all be celebrating those things which make us unique during this high holy day of raunch? I say yes. So it's with pride that I say welcome to IML weekend, a weekend in which cows are shaking in their hooves ( that one's for you, Dave ) .

I should only follow that up with a bit of drollery about bears to signify Bear Pride XIII. But, as you can plainly see, Creaoke has taken that one, ahem, into his able hands.

Let's all wish good luck to our cover stud JC Cestou on his bid to become the very next International Mr. Leather. The whole city's behind you ( God, you must be tired ) .

So I've been everywhere this past week. Let's see what memories haven't been drowned in vodka and lack of sleep.

Pleasure to speak with Kelly down InnExile way. I met his brother and we shared stories of childhood memories and lessons learned. Deep stuff. And then the shots came in.

Good to see Mr. Kevin Bernal at Jackhammer. Such fond memories of crawling up in to your DJ booth to escape the madding crowd. It was our little eagle's nest. Good job in all your AIDS prevention work with TPAN, Kev!

So stoked to see my good friend Jeff back in town. He's back at Cupid's pushing porn, just as he was meant to be. We chatted at Berlin for quite a while. Make sure to ask him about the best blow job he ever got. No, it wasn't me.

Scot's is always a treat. Tom's got some grand idea about bartenders or barbecues or something. Always cooking something up, that Scot.

Gio was popping all over the joint at Gentry for his Thursday night show. He even roused a particularly handsome straight boy to booty dance with him for the crowd. It takes a special kind of talent... mixed with seven too many Bud Lights. Good to see Luis keeping her pipes warm.

And speaking of Gay Idols, Gay Idol at @mosphere was intense. With a full slate of 20 singers, we welcomed two new talents into the fold. Yhazel, apparently just off the plane from Puerto Rico, won with his all-Spanish version of Livin' La Vida Loca. Ah, 1999. Those were such heady days...

And speaking of Messers Chicago Leather, Jeff Willoughby gave an impromptu and relevetory clinic on flogging at Touché, courtesy of Ursus' ever-reddening backside. Each one teach one.
