The lesbian historical fiction work Infraction, by Chicagoan Yvonne Zipter, will be out June 1.

The publisher is Rattling Good Yarns Press.

Set in socially turbulent St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1875, the work follows Marya Zhukova, who has many passions, including mathematics, literature—and her lover, Vera. According to a press release, "Inspired by a real-life account, Infraction takes place at a time when women who yearn for more find that freedom comes at a cost."

Zipter is the author of two nonfiction books (Ransacking the Closet and Diamonds Are a Dyke's Best Friend), three poetry collections (Kissing the Long Face of the Greyhound, The Patience of Metal, and Like Some Bookie God), and a number of short stories, including "Gunther's Wife," which won first place in LitPot ezine eclectic's Flash Fiction Contest, and "Third Date," which was selected for Best Lesbian Love Stories, 2005..
