About 30,000 walkers, runners and volunteers will take part in Chicago's Grant Park for the 15th annual Y-ME RACE, which will occur on May 14.
Individuals can participate in a 1- or 3-mile walk or a 5-kilometer run. This year, organizers expect the event to raise more than $4 million.
The mission of the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization is to ensure—through information, empowerment and peer support—that no one faces breast cancer alone. Y-ME has a 24-hour hotline staffed entirely by breast cancer survivors who are trained peer counselors, with interpreters in 150 languages
