The Frank Lloyd Wright Trust welcomes the public on Saturday, Dec. 2, to Wright's Oak Park Home and Studio for "Home for the Holidays," featuring tours, refreshments and discounts.
The open house is free, but registration is required online at FLWright.org/homefortheholidays. Entry is by general admission, beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m. The Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio is at 951 Chicago Ave., Oak Park.
Wright's home will be decked for the holidays as it was when the family lived in the house in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In keeping with tradition, a 12-foot Christmas tree with handmade ornaments will be in the children's playroom.
After visiting the home, families may participate in a design project in Wright's studio.
Free hot chocolate and cookies will be served while supplies last. The Home and Studio Museum shop will provide a free tote ( with purchases of $50 or more ), free gift-wrapping and a prize drawing. Membership specials will also be available.
