Best Animated Series

www.itsjerrytime.com

This is a strangely compelling series of Quicktime movies. Jerry's adventures include getting hassled over popcorn in a bar, altercations with a landlord, and working in inappropriate jobs. He's kind of a cross between Willy Loman and Jerry Seinfeld. The animation is a bit disturbing. The photos are stretched and distorted, not unlike a Terry Gilliam animation that's been left out on the dash on a hot summer day. So let's wrap that up: it's a cross between Seinfeld, Death of a Salesmen, and melted Monty Python—sort of. It's also far and away the best, and most consistently good, animated series out there.

Most Disturbing use of livestock

www.xs4all.nl/~pwitteve/hybrid.htm

Based on what I've seen online, The Japanese are strange... but the Dutch are freakin' scary. It seems like every fucked up site I come across nowadays is on a domain ending in .nl. The examples that float immediately to mind are the the Roy Orbison Clingfilm stories, the Smurf porno tapes, and this Hybrid Animal Human page. The page features badly photoshopped 'hybrids' of naked women and animals. What makes it all the more disturbing is that I'm sure the images are made by some 15yo named Dieter who's spankin' it while he 'creates.' It makes me glad I'm not a woman... or a pig.

Best use of Cats

www.catsthatlooklikehitler.com

I've covered a number of cat-related sites for this column ( The Infinite Cat Project, KittenWars, Bonzai Kitten, Cats in Sinks... ) and that trend will definitely continue into the future. Cat websites are far and away the best of the animal sites. They are often much more than just cute kitty pics and feature a bit of wit or satire and if they aren't, well at least they have the cute kitty pics to look at instead of smelly old dog pics. This year the supreme cat site was CatsThatLookLikeHitler.com . It won hands down—or would that be hand up?— Heil Kitler!

Best Gross out

www.popthatzit.com

In a year where we had sites featuring dead babies, grisly surgeries, and, worst of all, Clay Aiken tattoos, the award for Best Gross Out goes to the throughly disgusting, and completely compelling videos at PopThatZit.com . PTZ is the best gross out site I've seen since stumbling on to the venerable RateMyWound.com . Despite the fact that I was actually physically queasy, I couldn't stop myself from clicking on the link for the next video. Of course, if I had covered the Britney gash photos, or the Screech porn tapes this site wouldn't be taking home a weirdo. Those were about 90X worse.
