it might be easier to google this than type the damn url

A couple of times recently I've covered sites relating to the recent, regretable trend of taking home stillborn babies to photograph them with the family. This set of Victorian postmortem pics shows that the idea is far from new. These vary from haunting to just plain disturbing, but ultimately they left me with a profound desire to spend an hour cleansing myself by playing LineRider ( www.deviantart.com/deviation/40255643/ ) .
geeks! Part 1
www.bitflicks.com
Take geek sensibility. Mix in Lego. Add a dash of 8-bit retro gaming. What do you get? BitFlicks! BitFlicks is a blog that features animations done by using stop motion, Lego and CGI. The end result is pretty damn amazing. The blog itself focuses on gaming, but they post an animation every week or so. The ones of retro games were so good that after viewing the site I found myself going through boxes in the storage locker. Forty minutes later I had my prize in hand: my old NES and an copy of the original Metroid. Sweeeeeeeet.
Geeks! Part 2
www.anecdota.org/htmlgames/hexcolours
A fun game for the web design geeks among you. ( Everyone else just skip ahead to the next entry. Go on. You're going to hate this entry. ) To play, you're shown two color swatches and a hexadecimal color code. All you have to do is click on the color that corresponds to the displayed code. Woohoo! Are we having fun or what? OK, so this stretches the concept of game to the point that it actually snaps, but someone actually took the time to code the JavaScript. Still, maybe you can drop by and give them a click or two? You know how sad an unvisited web site gets.
This Space intentionally left blank
blanksheetofpaper.com
This came along just in time. I was at work and was fresh out of blank paper. Flummoxed, I do what I always do when I need something: I turned to Google. I found this site and just printed out what I needed! Brilliant! I added it to my Favorites and now I can print out a blank sheet of paper anytime! Even more amazing, if you load colored paper or transparencies into the printer you can print blank ones of those too!! I'll never be without scratch paper again, at least so long as I have an Internet connection available. I wonder if they sell a stand alone version of this great Internet application?
