Women's March on Chicago, the coalition behind the historic gathering of 250,000 women and their allies this past January, is setting Jan. 20, 2018, for a new rally and Get Out the Vote ( GOTV ) effort.
Ald. Sue Sadlowski Garza and Ald. Michele Smith joined representatives of a wide group of champions at an Oct. 11 press conference to announce that a "March to the Polls" effoer jan. 20, 2018, to help tip the scales toward a progressive pro-women policy agenda in the 2018 gubernatorial and mid-term primary and general elections.
Women's March on Chicago organizers announced details of their ambitious program, including a statewide effort at voter education and mobilization behind a platform of affordable healthcare, immigrant and racial justice, environmental and worker protection, living wages, reproductive freedom and access for people with disabilities.
