A performance by renowned lesbian comedian and monologuist Kate Clinton, a women's art extravaganza and a Full Throttle tea dance are to be highlights of Womenfest 2004, Key West's nationally acclaimed festival for lesbians and their friends. Now in its 17th year, Womenfest draws more than 5,000 women to celebrate the freedom, fun and diversity that has made Key West one of the United States' premier gay and lesbian vacation destinations.
Scheduled for Tuesday through Sunday, Sept. 7-12, Womenfest features tea dances, Reality is a Drag shows, snorkel and dolphin watch trips, and outrageous events including a 'hot buns' contest. Coordinated by the Atlantic Shores Resort, 510 South St., Womenfest offers events for singles, couples and groups of women who want to enjoy the freedom to be themselves in a naturally beautiful and accepting environment.
The Pearl's Patio Happy Hour, 5-7 p.m. at Pearl's Rainbow Guesthouse and Patio Bar at 525 United St., is to welcome women daily through Saturday.
