After a two-year hiatus, the 32nd Annual White Party Global (formerly White Party Palm Springs) celebrated its return with more than 20,000 attendees from around the globe, a press release noted.
Recognized as the longest-running and most well-known gay dance music festival in the world, the event took place April 29-May 1.
Artists who attended and/or performed included platinum-selling, British singer-songwriter Raye, who headlined the April 30 "Eternal"-themed main event. International supermodel, actress and businesswoman Beverly Johnson also attended that event, where she was crowned as the 2022 "Queen of White Party" during a special ceremony.
On May 1, Nettaknown for the Eurovision-winning song "Toy"performed.
Following Netta's performance, Tony winner Billy Porter made a surprise appearance to introduce headliner Paula Abdul. The singer/dancer/TV personality performed some of her hits, including "Straight Up," "Cold Hearted" and "Forever Your Girl." The night culminated with a climactic firework and video display in a tribute to the White Party Palm Springs' gay party impresario Jeffrey Sanker, who passed away in 2021.
DJs present throughout the weekend were Lisa Rodriguez, Joe Gauthreaux, GSP, Isis and Dan Slater, among others.
