It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Nightspots. Can't you just smell the chestnuts? Maybe you only prefer to smell the chest or the nuts. No matter. Here's hoping you get whatever it is that you want this year.
Happy 31st to The Pour House down in scenic Calumet City. The girls were spectacular, as always. Ernie seemed a bit toned down from last year's party. By Sunday, he had been the hardest working man in show business. Sleep well, Ernie.
So the Jägermeister cloud still hangs over my head. I hereby pledge never to touch the stuff again. If any of you see me out there with a Jäger shot in hand, please konk me over the head with the nearest blunt object. Any pain I experience as a result will pale in comparison to what the outcome would be otherwise.
Always a bit ahead of the times, The Closet is having their 27th annual pre-new year's party on Thursday, December 16. Last year they were spilling out of the door for a chance to rock. Hey, who doesn't love Rose.
Friday night sees Hydrate's silent art auction to benefit the Center on Halsted youth group.
Saturday's hot ticket is The Holly and the I.V. at Jackhammer. Cherise Pretty. That's all I need to say.
So a word about our cover. When I contacted Jim Bennett, host of Windy City Radio to appear on the cover, I had no idea what was in store. Once we had decided against the whole crucifixion/fellatio idea, we had a political moment. So he grabbed Andy Eninger, also of GayCo Productions. I have been sweet on Mr. Eninger for a number of years now. What a distinct pleasure it was, then, to be stationed in his bedroom with a camera while he paraded around in his little grey shorts. La vita bella!
Finally, Nightspots would like to bid an extremely fond farewell to Miss Yasmina, who passed away recently. Those who knew Yasmina could always appreciate the energy she put into her shows and her life. You will be sorely missed, Sweetie!
