"Solidarity: Standing on the Side of Love" is the theme of various Pride activities of the Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches ( CCWC ) this year.
The calendar includes a suburban ecumenical service, a weekend forum on solidarity with the international LGBTI community, an Ecumenical Pride Worship Service on June 22, a panel on progress since Stonewall and an entry in the Pride Parade.
The faith communities' witness in the suburbs continues to grow, with ongoing collaboration for an interfaith Pride service in the northwest suburbs. Three member churches and three others are collaborating for "Share the Pride" at Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist, 1025 N. Smith St., Palatine, on June 12 at 7 p.m.
CCWC will host a region-wide ecumenical Pride worship service on June 22 at 6 p.m. at University Church, 5655 S. University Ave., Chicago.
The Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches has more than sixty member churches and affiliates in Chicago and fifteen suburbs. For more information, visit www.chicagowelcomingchurches.org or email info@chicagowelcomingchurches.org .
