Chicago Filmmakers fundraiser May 14
Chicago Filmmakers, 5243 N. Clark St., will hold a firehouse capital campaign fundraisercomplete with a sneak-peek videoon Saturday, May 14.
The social hour starts at 7 p.m., with the screening starting at 8 p.m.
The 2016 program includes Chicago filmmakers and Dyke Delicious favorites Coquie Hughes; Fawzie Mirza, Lisa Donato and Allie Fohrman; Jenny Hagel and Erik Gernand; Ann Marie Carrothers and Amber Dever; and Serena Illuminati.

'Hockney' at Siskel in late May
At the Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 N. State St., on May 20-26, the film Hockney will run.
The 108-minute documentary "tracks Hockney's life and art through their many stages, from Yorkshire lad to Swinging London scene-maker to pioneer gay artist to chronicler of L.A.'s swimming-pool culture to technologically innovative wielder of Polaroids and iPads," according to the Siskel's website.

Trans documentary at Facets May 20-26
The transgender documentary From This Day Forward will run at Facets Cinematheque, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave., May 20-26.
During filmmaker Sharon Shattuck's preteen years, her father came out as a transgender woman and changed her name to Trisha. The movie looks at how the marriage of Sharon's mother, Marcia, and Trisha survived the transition.

'First Girl I Loved' at Music Box May 26
The Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., will run the lesbian-themed movie First Girl I Loved on Thursday, May 26, at 6 p.m.
The plot is as follows: Anne, 17, falls in love with Sasha, the most popular girl at her L.A. public high school. But when Anne tells her best friend Cliftonwho has always harbored a secret crushhe does his best to get in the way.
The film co-stars Cameron Esposito, a lesbian comedian who resided in Chicago before moving to L.A.
