tellofilms.com to release 'Flannel'
Chicago-based tellofilms.com has announced the release of its newest series, The Flannel Channel, with first-time filmmaker Jessica Nicholas writing and directing it.
The series follows Jordan, a college freshman who struggles to tell her best friend that she's in love with her. Kaytra Parkman portrays Jordan, Megan DeHart is bisexual best friend Ashley and Joseph Dhanens is gay best friend Joe.
The Flannel Channel's first episode will air Sunday, Nov. 8, with new episodes only available on tellofilms.com's premium section.
Miley Cyrus, Flaming Lips show Nov. 19
The act Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz has revealed details behind its special limited-run club tour.
The bandfeaturing multi-platinum selling artist/entertainer Miley Cyrus and the rock band The Flaming Lipswill hit the road starting Nov. 19 in Chicago at the Riviera Theatre. The Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz Tour will visit five additional cities with dates lined up in New York City, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Philadelphia and Boston.
Cyrus released her new album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, for free on Aug. 30, following her appearance as host of the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

Sam Smith CD set to drop Nov. 6
On Friday, Nov. 6, Capitol Records will release Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour ( Drowning Shadows Edition ).
The double-disc set will include the 14-track deluxe version of Smith's Grammy-winning debut album, In the Lonely Hour, plus a nine-song disc that features a brand-new original song by Smith entitled "Drowning Shadows;" live and alternate takes of songs from In The Lonely Hour; cover songs; and collaborations with Disclosure, Mary J. Blige, A$AP Rocky and John Legend.
In The Lonely Hour ( Drowning Shadows Edition ) will be available in digital, CD and vinyl formats. It is available for pre-ordering on iTunes.
Smith recently recorded "Writing's on the Wall," the theme song to Spectre, the 24th James Bond adventure. It marks the first James Bond theme song recorded by a British male solo artist since 1965.
'Music of Sam Cooke' Nov. 22
Singer Darrian Ford will hold his show, "The Cooke Book: The Music of Sam Cooke," Sunday, Nov. 22, at the House of Blues, 329 N. Dearborn St.
Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m.
In addition, Ford will be one of those performing at the "Out All Night" benefit for homeless youth on Monday, Nov. 9, at Boystown spot Sidetrack, 3349 N. Halsted St.

'Reefer Madness' Nov. 6-15
The production Reefer Madness will run at Palos Hills' Moraine Valley Community College Nov. 6-15, in the Dorothy Menker Theater, in the Fine and Performing Arts Center, on campus, 9000 W. College Pkwy.
Inspired by the original 1936 film of the same name, this raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids fall prey to marijuana, leading them on a supposed downward spiral filled with evil jazz music, sex and violence. The book is written by Kevin Murphy and Dan Studney, with music by Studney and lyrics by Murphy.
Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday performances are at 3 p.m., and are followed by a talk-back session. Tickets are $12 for the general public, and $10 for seniors and students.
