Armatrading at City Winery Oct. 7-9

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Joan Armatrading is playing at City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph St., Oct. 7-9, as part of the second leg of her last major world tour.

Her U.S. performances will include songs that span her entire career so far, with songs like "Love And Affection," "Willow" and "Drop The Pilot." Kristina Train will be the special guest during these shows.

Armatrading's resume includes three Grammy nominations, two Brit nominations and a coveted Ivor Novello Award. She performed for Nelson Mandela on two occasions, and is one of the first female artists to have been awarded with an MBE by Queen Elizabeth II. Armatrading is also the first female U.K. artist to have debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Blues chart and the first female U.K. artist to be nominated for a Grammy in the Blues category.

Tickets only remain for the Oct. 8 show; admission is $85-$105.

Cho to marry couples on 'PsyCHO' tour

Comedian Margaret Cho is marrying couples on stage as part of her "PsyCHO" tour.

Cho is a certified officiant through the American Marriage Ministries. A winner will be selected in each city during the Tour.

Qualified participants must submit a homemade video. The homemade video must answer "Why I want you to #MarryMeMargaret." Each entry must use the hashtag #MarryMeMargaret, and participants must tag their partners in the entry and @MargaretCho in each submission.

The contest submission period ends Oct. 1; winners will be chosen one week prior to the show in the select city. The contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older (21 or older in Ohio) at the time of entry. Cho will be at the Chicago Theater Oct. 3.

11th annual Museum Day Live! Sept. 26

Smithsonian magazine has designated Saturday, Sept. 26, the 11th annual Museum Day Live!

For one day only, participating museums across the United States will emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution's Washington, D.C.-based facilities, which offer free admission every day, and open their doors for free to those who download Museum Day Live! tickets.

Local museums slated to participate include Glessner House Museum, 1800 S. Prairie Ave.; the DuSable Museum of African American History, 740 E. 56th Pl.; and the Loyola University Museum of Art, 820 N. Michigan Ave., among others.

The public can visit smithsonian.com/museumdaylive to learn more and, beginning in August, download a Museum Day Live! ticket .

ONYX leather event Sept. 17-20

The national/international leather club for men of color known as ONYX will host Blackout XX on Sept. 17-20 in Chicago to mark its 20th anniversary.

ONYX will host a variety of events, including an opening reception; a fireside chat with 2015 Pantheon of Leather Lifetime Achievement award winner & ONYX founder Mufasa and living leather legends Jill Carter and Vi Johnson; workshops; a bar crawl; a fellowship dinner; and "The Blackout Dance," a fetish gear-themed party.

Attendance at Blackout XX is not restricted to men of color.
