'Halfway to Michfest' party April 30
The Second Annual Chicago Halfway to Michfest Party will take place Saturday, April 30, at the Holiday Club, 4000 N. Sheridan, 7-11 p.m.
Among the attractions are a DJ and raffle prizes (such as a six-day Michfest ticket, an overnight stay at the Klimpton's Palomar Hotel and more).
The suggested donation is $5, with proceeds funding ticket purchases for women who need help to attend the festival.
The party hosts are Brenda Schumacher, Jenae Williams, Julie King, Lee Knauer, Maisha Najuma Aza, Marla Nitt, Pat McCombs, Sherry Wright and Suzanne Blum-Grundyson.

Dining Out for Life April 28
Dining Out for Lifepromoted as "North America's largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser"returns to Chicago Thursday, April 28, and it is now in its 18th year.
This event is presented by EdgeAlliance, a provider of housing and services to Chicago residents living with HIV/AIDS. The goal of this year's event is to raise more than $250,000 for these residents.
More than 80 Chicago restaurants in 30 neighborhoods will participate. Among the participating eateries are Ann Sather, Crew, Blackbird, Hearty Restaurant, Kit Kat Lounge, Minibar, Signature Room at the 95th and Nookies Tree.
