Moncler event to support Dizzy Feet
On Thursday, Oct. 8, 6-9 p.m., Joffrey Ballet dancer/So You Think You Can Dance judge Fabrice Calmels will host a shopping event at Moncler, 33 E. Oak St., to benefit the Dizzy Feet Foundation.
The Dizzy Feet foundation is a 501( c )( 3 ) charitable organization founded in 2009 by producer Nigel Lythgoe ( So You Think You Can Dance ) and director/choreographer Adam Shankman, among others, to support, improve and increase access to dance education in the United States.

'50 States of Gay' Saturdays thru Oct.
GayCo Productions will run 50 States of Gay on Saturdays at Under the Gun Theater, 956 W. Newport Ave., at 7:30 p.m.
Starting with Massachusetts ( where the original tea was spilled ), each week the audience will select a different state from a hat, and that state will become the theme for the next show. The cast will then have exactly one week to create original content based on that state.
Previews start Sept. 12; the regular is Sept. 19 through Oct. 31.

Cerqua Rivera concludes series Oct. 10
Cerqua Rivera Cance Theatre will conclude its 2015 fall concert series Oct. 10, at 7 and 10 p.m., at Mayne Stage, 1328 W. Morse Ave.
According to a press release, the series is "when the company's full Dance and Music Ensembles perform together, debuting new work and sharing repertoire favorites in their unique fusion style that combines contemporary dance, original live music and visual art."

Play to mark 10th anniv. of Katrina
The Raven Theatre, 6157 N. Clark St., will observe the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina with The Play About My Dad.
The Play About My Dad, by Boo Killebrew, opened at New York's 595 E 59 Theatres in June 2011. It tells of the author's fathera doctor in Gulfport, Mississippiwho stayed behind to take care of patients as the storm hit in August 2005.
Previews will be Wed, Oct. 21-Sunday, Oct. 25, with press openings Monday, Oct. 26 and Tuesday, Oct. 27. The regular run will be Oct. 30-Nov. 28.

'42nd Street' in Chicago next March
Broadway in Chicago has announced that the musical comedy classic 42nd Street will celebrate a two-week engagement at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph St., with a new production on March 8-20, 2016.
The musical contains songs such as "We're In The Money," "Lullaby of Broadway," "Shuffle Off To Buffalo," "Dames," "I Only Have Eyes For You" and "42nd Street."
It is based on a novel by Bradford Ropes and Busby Berkeley's 1933 movie, and tells the story of a starry-eyed young dancer named Peggy Sawyer who leaves her Allentown home and comes to New York to audition for the new Broadway musical Pretty Lady.
