'Barlesque' thru Nov. 23
Through Nov. 23, contestants representing 18 local bars and businesses are competing for the title of "Chicago's Sexiest" to raise money for TPAN in its online strip-a-thon, "Barlesque 7: Let's Get Physical."
As people visit the Barlesque website ( www.barlesque.org ) and donate money, the contestants' photos will reflect their various stages of undressthe more donors give, the less that the contestants wear.
The Barlesque 7 kickoff party will be held Wed., Nov. 5, 7-10 p.m. at Charlie's Chicago, 3726 N. Broadway. All money raised through Barlesque goes directly towards TPAN's HIV/AIDS services. Last year, this event raised more than $58,000.

'Chicago Casting Auction' Nov. 8 at Michelle's'
The annual Chicago Casting Auctiona unique opportunity for non-professionals to experience being on stagewill take place Saturday, Nov. 8, at Michelle's Ballroom, 2800 W. Belmont Ave.
Bailiwick Chicago will be auctioning off more than 40 roles for this season's musical production, Wonderful Town. After casting is complete and five weeks of rehearsals take place, the play will run Feb. 24-28, 2015, at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave.

Gershwin, Ives songs part of Unity's series
Various performers will entertain audiences in three separate performances this fall and holiday season at Unity Temple, 875 Lake St., Oak Park, for the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust's new Concerts in Context series.
The first performance on Thursday, Nov. 6, will feature the Chicago Philharmonic Chamber Players, showcasing the music of American composers Charles Ives, George Gershwin, Kurt Weill and Aaron Copeland.
The Chicago Philharmonic Chamber Players return to Unity Thursday, Dec. 4, for "Music and Modernism: Early 20th Century Vienna," featuring the music of Austrian composers Alexander Zemlinsky and Arnold Schoenberg. The 2014 series will wrap Thursday, Dec. 18, with a jazz performance of holiday favorites by Grammy-nominated vocalist Margaret Carlson and her trio.
