The U.S. Eagles play last season's Heineken Cup champions, Munster, in the inaugural Setanta Sports Challenge Cup on Sun., Aug. 26, in Toyota Park in Bridgeview.
The Heineken Cup is an annual rugby union competition involving teams from England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales.
This is the first match USA Rugby has hosted in the Chicago area in several years and event administrators are expecting a large turnout at the stadium. Tickets start at $25; visit www.ticketmaster.com or call 312-559-1212.
However, there is another option. The Chicago Dragons Rugby Club is organizing buses to transport their players and fans to Toyota Park for the game and back. The buses will leave T's Bar and Restaurant, 5025 N. Clark, at 10:30 a.m. and pick up more fans near Gentry on Halsted, 3320 N. Halsted, at 11 a.m. before heading for the stadium. The cost of the package is $40 and includes the round trip on the bus, a game ticket and a post-match Beer Bust & Pizza at T's. Attendees will be responsible for their own food and drinks at the stadium.
