'Transgender Day of Remembrance' Nov. 20
"Transgender Day of Remembrance & Resilience" will take place Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted St.
There will be a program of performances, reading of the names of those who have passed, a march around the neighborhood, and an interactive mural to celebrate trans and gender-non-conforming individuals who are surviving. See "Transgender Day of Remembrance & Resilience" on Facebook.
There will also be a remembrance ( on the same day and at the same time ) at AChurch4Me MCC, 1545 W. Morse Ave. The Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches and AChurch4me MCC are co-sponsoring this event.
Transgender Day of Remembrance ( TDOR ) is an annual observance on Nov. 20 that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
UIC to unveil LGBT exhibition Nov. 20
On Thursday, Nov. 20, there will be an unveiling of "GSC 20/20," a yearlong exhibition highling two decades of LGBTQA activism and the University of Illinois at Chicago ( UIC ).
The ceremony will take place Thursday, Nov. 20, 3-6 p.m., in the GSC Fally, 183 BSB, 1007 W. Harrison St. Daily viewing hours through June 30, 2015, are Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Fridays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

'Cocktails + Conversation' Nov. 20
PFLAG will host "Cocktails + Conversation"an event about LGBTQ equality and affirmation, among other thingsThursday, Nov. 20, 4:30-7 p.m., at Roosevelt University's Wabash Tower, 425 S. Wabash Ave., Room 1315.
Among those speaking will be Pamela Tate, president/CEO of the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning; PFLAG National Executive Director Jody Huckaby; and Roosevelt University President Charles Middleton.
