Wizard World Chicago Comic Con flew into town Aug. 11-14 with record-breaking attendance and superheroes galore. Anyone can be a hero for a day with this annual comic book convention. Many attendees came dressed for the occasion and often outshone the celebrities that hoped for paid signature requests.
Fan favorites Patrick Stewart, Christopher Lloyd and Bruce Campbell appeared along with casts from the movies Willy Wonka and Boondock Saints. In addition, cast members from the television shows Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Torchwood ( James Marsters and Gareth David-Lloyd, respectively ) were on hand to chat with the massive crowds.
T-shirts, action figures and, of course, comic-book collections were available for purchase. Artists' alley was a true highlight, with commissioned art all for the right price and to satisfy many a fan's dream.
