Current shows we think are hot.
Angus, Thongs & Full Front Snogging, Griffin Theater, through March 14. Georgia, 14, learns to snog (kiss) and gets the boy in the band in this slight delight, given a fast, breezy and imaginative staging by Griffin with a cast of attractive newcomers. (Abarbanel)
Guys and Dolls, Court Theatre, through March 28. What this pocket-sized staging loses in spectacle, it redeems in dramatic interaction by actor-vocalists seen and heard at close range. You won't need earplugs, even when Miss Adelaide hits her high notes. (Barnidge)
My Own Stranger, Writers' Theatre, through March 28. Adapted from the letters and poetry of Anne Sexton, this haunting collage of a fragile life offers a trio of bravura performances by Marilyn Campbell, Mary Beth Fisher and Kymberly Mellen. (Reed)
San Valentino And The Melancholy Kid, House Productions, through March 6. The folks who gave us Death And Harry Houdini now goes Wilder West: cattle stampedes, bounty hunters, shootouts, dance-hall girls, and a full-out rock-and-roll band. Yee-ha! (Barnidge)
