Well, I reckon I trekked way out west over yonder to Beauty Bar for their thumping tribute to Jay and Bey ( Z and -once, respectively ). Alwways tragically cute at that place. Look for more Beauty Bar events on these pages.
And on my way, I pulled my stagecoach up to Seek Vintage, as I ran into my friend Chris outside smoking. I thought it a bit odd to see him smoking outside a super-hip vintage clothing, housewares and memorabilia store at such an hour, but it turns out that Seek hosts monthly parties where you can shop and drink and drink and shop and any combination of the above. Owner Chris Hunt has curated a truly kitshcy collection; dude is living my dream. For more on Seek Vintage, see the special spread on page 14.
Speaking of outwesting, Phoenix in Elk Grove Village was hopping last night when I stopped in and got the shot of this week's cover boy. Maybe it was the vintage Harley-Davidson T-shirt I was wearing but he seemed insistent upon getting his hands on my chestular region. And, I mean, c'mon, look at him. His hands pretty much have carte blanche on my entire body. I do declare!
Thanks to Kyle for the lovely shots of my Thursday trivia night at The Glenwood. We've been having an awesome winter, with the advent of several drunken and sexy kickball teams who come in after the game. It's all I can do to keep my eyes on the challenging yet hysterically fun questions and answers you get each Thursday at The Glenwood at 9. No pressure ...
Sofia Saffire was ravishing in red at High Hat Club's Oscars party. Speaking of trivia, I won a Black Ice tree car air freshener ( the best one ) by correctly answering which was the only X-rated film to ever win Best Picture. Here's a hint: It features a young and fetchingly nebbishy Bob Balaban gobbling Jon Voight's knob in a darkened movie theater. Yes, you are correct. It's The Magnificent Seven ... -Incher. No dummy, it's Midnight Cowboy.
Sorry for calling you a dummy. I was doing a bit.
