It's all about the birthdays/anniversaries this week.
Berlin is the new 30 as they celebrate three decades of gender-bending, freak-flag-flying, arty, drunky fun with a packed calendar of events, Tues., Nov. 5 through Sun., Nov. 10. The week culminates in an all-out family affair with DJs Greg Haus, Chester, Larissa, Pete Augusta and more; along with faces of the past and present presented on their giant screens. Show up to see your smiling face in amongst the madness. I'll see you there through my Olympus SP-800UZ's lens and a pleasant vodka-induced haze. See the center spread for full details.
If you like 'em a little older, Touche celebrates it 36th on Tues., Nov. 5, with the ever-refreshing Bud Boyz, a free buffet ( Bud Boyz included ), drink specials and a porn lotto featuring hot xxx vids from the annals ( with two Ns ) of Bijou Video. DJ Freddie Bain spins.
Still not old enough for you? Well, I'll be turning 39 myself on Tues., Oct. 29. The technical street date of this issue is Wed., Oct. 30, but I know many of you like to snatch up a copy the night before. If you do, feel free to stop by Sidecar Bar to say hello as my trivia team Nerdcore and I will be wreaking havoc during our weekly Q&A Trivia throwdown, starting roughly at 8:30. After that, the plan had been ( and may still be ) to sing the night away at Jackhammer's Tuesday night Creaoke karaoke, but we'll have to see. Word from the inside is that a licensing issue pends and that they have an excellent attorney on the case. So get on your knees ... and pray that the joint is reopened by then. Otherwise, I may not make it to 40.
