So the weekend in Antioch to see Khris Francis at Fox's Lounge was an amazing time. It's curious how many Martinis you can put away when all you have to do to get home is to press the UP button for the elevator. And 50 miles away from your normal locus of location, you are officially "fresh meat" on Grindr.
Alas, as much fun as I had, it was to be his last show (for now). Due to personal/family reasons, Khris was forced to cancel the remainder of his run at Fox's and return home to Florida. Fox's hopes to book him later in the year. I'll run all the great photos I got at that time.
Speaking of driving, I made it down to Club Krave to judge theand I'm going to try to get this title rightMiss Midwest Gay North America International pageant, thrown by Lauren Jacobs and co-hosted by RuPaul's Drag Race's Mystique Summers. I spent a fair amount of time helping the girls get ready between numbers and let me tell you, I'm glad I'm not a drag queen. It's all I can muster to put on a pair of pants, to say nothing of all the effort it takes to pull off (or on, as the case may be) some of these outfits. I nearly broke my index finger off helping to zip up a boot. My hat's off to the drag community and all you do to entertain. For me, I'll continue to photograph drunken queers and call THAT hard work.
Are those, like, fully vagina-ed ladies at Touche for DJ Germ's party? It was such a novelty, I had to take their picture. No telling how late into the night they stayed.
Please support Sidetrack's Havana In Chicago, Sat., March 23. It's Art and Pepe's baby and they are really trying to drum up funds for First Hand Aid, whose volunteers deliver medical supplies to the people of Cuba. If that wording sounds familiar, it's because I copied it verbatim from the Sidetrack ad immediately facing this column. Logic would tell you to see said ad for more info. Follow that logic.
And see you Easter Sunday at Scot's for the Easter bonnet contest and Houlihan's famous sausage ring. It's a buffet for the senses ... and your fat ass (present company excluded).
