Another year, another leatherclad
weekend. Can't you still
smell the leathermen? I was at
The Eagle. Let me tell you: I won't
be getting THAT smell out of my
hair for some time. Where's Miss
Pantene ProV when I need her?
It was the B.O.-iest night all year.
Hey, gimme manfunk over cheap
cologne any day!
I did my best to keep up with the
roving bears on Saturday. Well,
truth be told, there wasn't much
roving going on. You lay out a
spread and the bears will situate
themselves for a while. Case in
point: Sidetrack had what looked
like laundry baskets filled with
several varieties of pasta salads.
That kept the bears locked in
place for a bit. Also, the spread at
Bucks was no slouch.
A few bars were new to the bear
crawl this year. Note for next
year: GRUB!
I did not make it to Subterranean
for the triumphant return of
Planet Earth, everyone's favorite
new wave night ( formerly at
Neo ) . However, our very own Mel
Ferrand, longtime follower of the
Planet, excitedly submitted some
great shots. They had a massive
turnout, much to the delight of
the club and the promoters, not
to mention the queers in the
crowd ( oops, I just mentioned
them! )
As for that picture of Teriyaki
from out in front of Jackhammer:
where's a street sweeper when
you need it? I know I'd park my
car on the opposite side of the
street to ensure quick disposal of
that trash.
And speaking of trash... and
speaking of Teriyaki, check her
out again on page 20 at ILGRA's
Pumps and Pearls show. Honey,
we know you're on a budget, but
you can do better.
Bitch, you know I love you.
I did also get several pictures
from out front of Touché that
were tremendously unprintable.
You can't imagine the private
reel I've amassed over the years.
Thanks to Touché for upping the
ante.
If you noticed an expansive lake
of piss on Halsted, it's probably
from all the queens who wet
themselves laughing with the
hysterical Dixie Longate and her
special two-night engagement
selling Tupperware at Hydrate.
I'm sure she could sell you something
to help clean it all up, too.
Shoot her an e-mail at dixielongate@
my.tupperware.com and
throw a bitch some business.
And before you see Sex and the
City this weekend ( you KNOW
you will ) check out Windy City
Queercast host Amy Matheny's
take on the four fabulous females
of fagdom. Follow her blog at
