Is it me or did it just get sexier in here? Well, it's not me, it's Under A Big Top, TPAN's 2nd Annual Chicago Takes Off strip-a-rific fund raiser. Check out the ad on page 27 for full information on how to procure some last minute tickets ( if it's not too late--and if it is, you WILL be kicking yourself ) .
I arrived to the King and Queen of Crewe Royale show at 3160 about an hour and a half late, so I was just in time. And good thing, too. I would have missed the stunning performance of Mr. ILGRA 2008 Tom Sheridan. It was some country tune about him and his buddy being shocked to find out they were dancing with a man. Country isn't necessarily my bag of oranges, so I cannot say with any degree of assuredness whether or not a great percentage of country songs cover this topic ( although I have my suspicions ) . However, he illustrated the subject matter perfectly as he brought up his ILGRA wife Miss Cherise Pretty. The crowning touch of the act was, when on the line about smashing a beer can on his head, he sent the glass tip jar smashing to the ground. Talk about your literal interpretations!
I will often run into to folks who refuse my offer of picture-taking, citing their own lack of photogenic qualities. This, more often than not, proves to be a spot-on self-fulfilling prophecy, as they scrunch their faces and cross their eyes in grim anticipation of my flash. It was not so with Photo Jenny.
I met Photo Jenny at Spin and, noticing her beauty, offered to take her picture. She grizzled at first and claimed not to be photogenic. I somehow convinced her to allow me to ply my trade, bracing myself for the inevitable fucked up picture. Lo, and behold! How hot is that picture of her over to the left? Photo Jenny ( not her real name ) is extremely photogenic ( thus Photo Jenny, in case you hadn't already done the math on that one ) .
Having finally gotten my car repaired ( over $600, GODDAMNIT!!! ) , I motored on down to Club Krave to catch up with Jason and the boys. That's him snapping my picture. Look for his picture of me doing the same on their myspace page. You'll also find a hot video of dancer Peter shaking his caboose. Choo choo! Or chew, chew if you're in the mood.
They are getting very amped about their upcoming Windy City Gay Idol night. Yes, your fav queer-aoke contest is coming back for a sixth year, starting next month. Stay tuned for details.
