South Side's lesbian-owned Café NINE 17 will host this year's scrumptious soirée, 'A Soulful Affair,' May 13 at 6 p.m.
The succulent soul food gala is a collaborative fundraising effort of Windy City Black Pride and Brothers United in Support, a group for Black gay and bisexual men living with HIV/AIDS. The event kicks off a series of upcoming fundraising efforts to benefit Windy City Black Pride, which will be held June 30-July 3.
'It's going to be an amazing event,' said Windy City Black Pride President Charles Nelson. There will be three chefs cooking up delicious eats, live entertainment such as spoken word, hot soul music and a few surprises.
Café NINE 17 is located at 917 E. 79th St. Tickets, which are $25, can be purchased by calling ( 773 ) 989-9400.
