Queer social-media and reality-show figure JoJo Siwa made history on this season of Dancing with the Stars by being part of the series' first same-sex couple (with partner Jenna Johnson)and the twosome made it all the way to the Nov. 22 finale.
Siwa and Johnson received perfect scores during both dances. However, it turned out that after all the votes were logged, the same-sex team finished second.
NBA star Iman Shumpert and partner Daniella Karagach won the mirror-ball trophy. Third place went to out gay Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby and partner Cheryl Burke, while The Talk co-host Amanda Kloots and partner Alan Bersten ended up fourth.
Judge Derek Hough had to miss the finale because of COVID; sister (and former judge) Julianne Hough took his place. |
