Nightspots friend Dougie Collins loaded up his gAy List bus and rolled on down to the state capital for the March on Springfield For Marriage Equality, Tues., Oct. 22. Nearly 50 folks ( on just this bus alone ) made the 3.5 hour trip and joined an estimated crowd of 5,000 to rally for equal marriage on the first day of the State Senate veto session.

A special concert was held the night before the march at Scandals in Springfield. Entertainment included music from local favorites Stephen Leonard, Sami Grisafe, De'Borah and others. Chicago poet C.C. Carter co-hosted the event and the joyful performances set the mood for the following day's historic gathering in front of the Capitol Building.
