Geoff Hoyle's clowning around again, and that's very good news. The deft and inspired veteran of Cirque de Soleil and Broadway brings Feast of Fools, his new one-clown show (plus a one-woman orchestra) to Northlight Theatre for 10 days only, through Sept. 27. Hoyle combines mime, acrobatics, music, sight gags and slapstick into a warm and joyous entertainment. Along with the likes of Bill Irwin, Hoyle has helped reinvent clowning and re-establish its theatrical appeal. Northlight Theatre, at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie; $30-$40; (847)673-6300 |
