A World of Chocolate is the AIDS Foundation of Chicago's (AFC) annual holiday event to commemorate World AIDS Day. On Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 at the Fairmont Chicago, more than 20 of Chicago's finest restaurants, caterers and hotels will provide imaginative chocolate creations to satisfy even the strongest sweet-tooth, including Chocolate Martinis shaken and poured by the bartenders of the popular North Halsted nightclub, Hydrate.
For a taste of what to expect at A World of Chocolate, stock your bar with martini glasses and shakers, and impress your guests with this Chocolate Martini recipe from Hydrate for a truly cosmopolitan holiday.
Hydrate Chocolate Martini
1 oz vodka
1 oz chocolate liqueur
1 oz creme de cacao
Use cocoa powder to rim a martini glass. Mix ingredients in a shaker over ice, strain into chilled glass. Garnish with chocolate.
Note: To create different flavors of chocolate martinis simply add a 1/2 shot of your favorite flavored schnapps. Try peppermint with a candy cane garnish or let your imagination run wild.
