I took the vampy Lynda Licina with me to the Lanes for Dames bowling benefit at Timber Lanes ( 1851 W. Irving Park ) . Proceeds from the event went to the Howard Brown Health Center Women's Program. ( Coming up Saturday, March 17, they have an open house 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at 4025 N. Sheridan Road; 773-388-8926. )

I never thought I'd see Lynda in a bowling alley. ( It's like seeing Madonna buying clothes in K-Mart. ) "I don't think anyone in this room is wearing make-up," said Lynda, surveying the 100 or so lesbians. "I think you're wearing enough make-up for all of them," I said. "You look like a cross between a clown and a whore. Bozo the hooker."

I just about survived Bobby Love's 1st Anniversary Mardi Gras weekend event. The bar attracts some real characters at the best of times, but Friday night's Mardi Gras karaoke was a scream. The image of Lisa Eaton singing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" with his pants around his ankles is something I need prolonged therapy to recover from.

I don't know how Bobby puts up with all these crazy people. I notice his lover sits at the bar and never stops laughing as a bizarre parade of people get up to sing; Gina is just wonderful, and Victoria LaMarr tearing her wig off and singing "The Rose" was a personal highlight for me.

It's good to see the Polish Princess back in action after breaking his foot. My nights were very dark without his star shining for me. And where was Tillie and Old Marlene?

I heard the food at the Kit Kat Lounge at 3700 N. Halsted is excellent. However, I was in there the other night not to eat, but to take photos of the Howard Brown Booth Captain Kick-Off Party to promote "Who's That Girl," two evenings of drag coming up in April. Pat looked stunning as always and I love the spiky hair motif of the bartenders. Is that compulsory or coincidence? It looks like a really cool place, and it's great to see that location going gay again. Remember when that was the L.A. Connection; what a classy joint that was! The hookers were so cheap in that place, even I could afford to hire one.

On the same night, next door at Cell Block, Season of Concern were holding their pre-BowlORama costume party. Hosted by the delectable Brian-Mark&emdash;who, incidentally, has a new porn video out&emdash;the evening started out pretty wild. What do you expect when you get more than a hundred actors in a bar? Who did the catering? ... Those baby quiches were fabulous.

At 9:30 p.m., the party left Cell Block and made its way over to the Marigold Bowling alley, and that's where I saw Julius Caeser and Marge Simpson bowling together. That has to be a first!!

I ended the evening at Charlie's where the cute cowboy bartender wept noisily into a napkin over a sad country song. Don't you just love homosexuality?
