It didn't look like much of a party in the ad: Come Celebrate Three Birthdays at Bucks. Hosted by Victor, Joe and David.

Who knew? It turned out to be the party of the season. As always, the Bucks buffet is the best on the strip. Who does their food?

And there was a show with the delightful David Hamilton, who I haven't seen around for a long while; maybe he's been playing in one of those bars I don't go to. I remember him at Bobby Love's years back.

Paula Sinclair was the hostess for the evening. She was wearing a dangerously short dress; in fact, it was so short that when she bent over I saw where she was hiding her weapons of mass destruction. Send the inspectors into Paula's panties!!

Also performing were Stardust, who brought their own fan club along. You always get a fun crowd at Buck's, but the three birthday boys brought out the local celebs too. The wonderful Amy Armstong dropped in, Toots and the Polish Princess were there, and wasn't that a certain person from a certain ex-punk band?

Bucks is becoming quite the hip little bar these days. I look forward to the summer and the Sunday afternoon patio parties there.

Speaking of Paula Sinclair, don't forget Monday night Bingo at Rehab, which Paula now does with Miss Foozie. I was there last week and bumped into Foozie. Sorry I couldn't stick around for the show Fooze, I had a tight schedule (What do you mean it's the only tight thing I have got?). Also, around the corner on the same night, Lauren Jacobs and Frieda Lay host the Bingo at Charlie's. Oh my God!! Could this be the battle of the Bingo drag queens …

Demanda Bump's Birthday Blowout Bash and Fundraiser Monday, Jan. 27 from 10:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at Cocktail. Performances by Monique Green, Vanity Fair, Teriyaki, Ambrosia, Lady Ashley, Go-go boys, Shawn, Lucas, Oscar (the latter two from Dream Boys Productions). Donations accepted at the door for Meals on Wheels. Raffles and prizes for best dressed and/or extreme dressed.

Hot Tips: Don't miss the action at the Manhandler every Sunday at 6 p.m. for the weekly buffet. I'll see you there boys.

Feb. 14-16: Here it is again. One of Nightspots' favorite annual events—The Pantheon of Leather. This year they join with Cell Block and Male Hide Leathers' Chicago Leather Pride Weekend, featuring the Cell Block/Male Hide Leatherman Contest on Saturday night, and the Mr. and Ms. Olympus Leather Contest at the Chicago Eagle on Sunday night.

A separate and popular event, My Vicious Valentine, will take place at a hotel near Chicago's O'Hare Airport. MVV will feature pansexual workshops and dungeon parties.

More info will become available over the next couple of weeks. The registration fee is $99 for the weekend. Individual event tickets may be available at each event if all of the weekend packages are not sold. Tickets to the Cell Block Leatherman Contest will be available regardless.

Contact .

A complete list of the nominees for the Pantheon of Leather and registration info is at A registration form is on page 11.

IML and the Pantheon of Leather make Chicago the leather capital of the world.

My friend Larry e-mailed me about this upcoming event: 'Come out, come out. OutMusic Chicago is sponsoring a Queer Music Open Mic at Jackhammer on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 8-10 p.m., hosted by Tim Cain of Boy's Entrance. All are welcome so come out and play.'
