If it hadn't been for the fact that it was fucking freezing, and I was riding in Kirk's drafty jeep, the drive down to Encompass in Lake Station, Ind., would have been a pleasant experience.
However, once we got there it was well worth it. What a fabulous club!! I'd never been there before. I was expecting a hole-in-the-wall type of place, but no ….
It's actually two bars, a dance bar and a quiet cabaret type bar with a piano, although no one was playing it the night we went there. Somebody else had the spotlight that night: the absolutely delicious Brian 'Hitmix' Middleton from B-96 was spinning. Nice guy.
What is it with these out-of-the-way bars? You'd think they'd be half empty, but Encompass was absolutely packed. Great bar and a fun place to party.
After Encompass we headed north again to Inn Exile, another little gem that's tucked away on the South Side. Kelly and Michael were serving up the drinks; I had a couple too many. Hi Jay!!
We went to Inn Exile to see Alysha Stone performing. She was fabulous!! Following Miss Stone was Noche del Video Latino, Latin videos by request. I don't remember that part, but that doesn't mean I wasn't there … I just don't 'remember' any Latin videos. On Fridays at Inn Exile they have Chicago Beef dancers and Sundays is karaoke by Mariah Productions.

Oh God! Anything to do with Demanda Bump leaves me speechless, and her recent birthday party at Cocktail is no exception. What are we going to do with that girl?
It was the night of the wild women. Vanity Fair was stunning (I have to say that as she tried to slip me some tongue. She must have been drunk … or something!) and Teriyake looked like a high-priced hooker. Even as a boy she looks like a high-priced hooker!! And Jay Jay was there and she doesn't look like a hooker at all.
I didn't recognize Monique Madison; I've only ever seen her as a blond. I think she's having a Goth moment. Monique Green and Satine were visiting from Lola's …
… And a host of other adorable queens who will slap me next time I see them for not mentioning their names.
Not forgetting the dreamy go-go boys from Dream Boys. Demanda Bump puts on one hell of a show. Happy birthday, darling!
