1985. What were you doing 20 years ago? Tracy Baim began Windy City Times. So in honor of the 20th anniversary of Windy City Times, I'd like to do a column on the 'then and now' of my life. Happy anniversary to those who have been involved in the LGBT press during the last 20 years whether writing it or reading it. You're all appreciated!

20 ) What I Collected Then: albums, tapes, sheet music and books. Now: CDs, books and music books.

19 ) Favorite Stores at the Mall Then: Hickory Farms, Fannie Mae, Spencer's, book store, and Karmelcorn. Now: tea store, candy store, book store and popcorn store.

18 ) Favorite Movie Then: Grease. Now: Fried Green Tomatoes.

17 ) Electronic Gadget Then: walkman. Now: cell phone.

16 ) Organization Methods Then: coffee cans, stackable storage bins, little piles here and there. Now: bookshelves, under the bed storage bins, little piles here and there except now I can't remember what's in the little piles.

15 ) Most Important Sport Then: swimming. Now: swimming, cycling, and kickboxing.

14 ) Favorite Singers Then: Olivia-Newton John and U2. Now: Olivia, Indigo Girls, Dixie Chicks, U2.

13 ) Favorite Beauty Products Then: mousse and gel. Now: vanilla lotion.

12 ) Favorite Clothing Then: jeans and army jacket. Now: jeans and Eeyore t-shirt.

11 ) Favorite Thing to do on a Friday Night Then: out with friends to a movie and ice cream. Now: out with Robin to a movie or the theatre and home for dessert.

10 ) Saturday Morning Cartoon Then: Superfriends. Now: Garfield reruns.

9 ) Favorite Comic Strip Then: Garfield. Now: Garfield.

8 ) Current Job Then: lifeguard. Now: singer, actor, writer, corporate day job.

7 ) Dream Job: professional singer. Now: higher paid professional singer.

6 ) Most Important Hygienic Habits Then: stylish hair and matching clothes. Now: remembering to look at my hair and making sure my socks match.

5 ) Most Important Thing to Me Then: friends and family. Now: Robin, family, and friends.

3 ) In Love Then: my best friend, Linda. Now: my best friend, Robin.
