Neighborhoods across Chicagoland will play host to free HIV testing this summer as part of the third annual "Step Up. Get Tested." campaign.
This year's goal is to test 5,000 individuals for HIV between June 5 and July 4.
The campaign kicks off Thursday, June 5 at 10 a.m., with testing events taking place simultaneously on the city's North, South and West sides, as well as the south suburbs. Each testing event will include access to free rapid HIV-testing services, education and support resources.
Testing will take place June 5 at Wilson Avenue and Broadway ( Red Line CTA ), Central Avenue and Lake Street ( Green Line CTA ), 18th Street and Paulina Avenue ( Pink Line CTA ), 1044 N. Francisco Ave. ( Norwegian American Hospital ), 2620 W. Division St. ( Batey Urbano ), 71st Street and Jeffrey Boulevard, and 159th and Wood streets.
