Running for Illinois state representative, former comedian/radio host Patti Vasquez has revealed that the late serial killer John Wayne Gacy murdered her brother, according to WGN-TV.
Election laws compel Vasquez to run for state senator under her full legal namePatricia Bonnin. She had been using her mother's maiden name publicly for years.
Her name will appear on the March 17 ballot for the 19th District seat as "Patricia D. 'Patti Vasquez' Bonnin.'" Vasquez will run against recently appointed incumbent Lindsey LaPointe and Joe Duplechin in the Democratic primary. The winner will run against Republican Jeff Muehlfelder, who is unopposed in his primary.
Gacy raped, tortured and murdered at least 33 teenage boys and young men between 1972 and 1978 in Cook County. He was executed in 1994.
