Chicago (Roseland)Jaylin D. McClinton (he/him/él) announced today that Illinois State Representative Kelly Cassidy is endorsing his campaign in the race for Cook County Commissioner in the 5th District.
"I am thrilled to endorse Jaylin in his campaign for Cook County Commissioner. Jaylin's commitment to putting justice front and center on the Cook County Board of Commissioners is exactly what is needed in these times. I am inspired by Jaylin's candidacy and look forward to helping him make history as the youngest Black and first Black, openly gay Cook County Commissioner," said Illinois state Rep. Kelly Cassidy.
"On every progressive issue I can think of from the legalization of the recreational use of cannabis to women's reproductive health to criminal legal system reform to rooting out corruption, Kelly Cassidy's name is often one you hear as a champion for equity and justice. I am honored to have Illinois State Representative Kelly Cassidy's support and look forward to ushering in more policies that work for everyday working-class families once elected," McClinton added.
Cassidy joins Democracy For America (DFA), the LGBTQ Victory Fund, Run For Something (RFS), Illinois House Black Caucus Chair Kam Buckner, Illinois State Representative Lamont J. Robinson, MWRD Commissioner & Former Obama Great Lakes Czar Cam Davis, and 34th Ward Committeeperson Preston Brown in supporting McClinton's bid for Cook County Commissioner.
