With room for 62 teams, divisions included are A, B, C competitive and C recreational (only teams with a rating under 120), D and
Women's Competitive & Alternative.
The Chicago Metropolitan Sports Association has simple beginnings. It arose from a challenge softball game in 1978 between
two local bars, played in Lincoln Park on the North Side of Chicago along Lake Michigan. From that game a softball league was born
and grew steadily each year. As the league expanded with more teams, more space was required and in 1986 the league moved to
Margate Park between Lake Michigan and Lake Shore Drive. Each year CMSA 12" Open Division Softball has continued to grow,
and in 2003, CMSA's Open Division 12" Softball grew to 36 teams. As a result, two fields at Clarendon Park have been added to the
2003 season. Thursday, July 3rd: Tournament Registration Sign-up at Embassy Suites Hotel, 511 N. Columbus. Time: 5-7 p.m.
