New York Ballers defeated the San Francisco Rock Dogs 56-52 in a match up of two very talented teams in the men's competitive division for the 14th annual Hoops Classic men's basketball tournament last weekend in Chicago.
In the semis of the men's upper bracket, New York Ballers beat Freeze (the three-time defending champions) and San Francisco Rock Dogs won a close game over Chicago Spin 51-50.
In the Women's Division, Playmakers won.
In the Over 35 Men's, Chicago Green River Legacy were champs.
And in the NIT Division, Chicago Shakers, sponsored by Lawry's, won.
This was the largest gay basketball tournament ever, and it included many young gays and lesbians, with an even more competitive environment.
