Girls in the Game, formerly A Sporting Chance Foundation, provides and promotes sports and fitness, leadership development, health education and life skills opportunities to enhance the overall health and well being of all girls. Since their inception in 1995, GIG has directly reached more than 8,000 girls through services and programs and thousands more through advocacy and resource materials. Their two-fold purpose is to: 1) ensure that adequate sports and fitness, leadership development, health education and life skills programming are made available to girls, and 2) reduce the barriers that young girls face in sports and activities that promote healthy lifestyle choices.
