'CLLAW-entine' Feb. 13 at Logan
The Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers ( CLLAW ) will host "My Bloody Cllaw-Entine" on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Logan Square Auditorium, 2539 N. Kedzie Ave.
CLLAW's 24th benefit match will feature the arm wrestlers; live musical entertainment from all-female Beastie Boys tribute band She's Crafty; and a cash bar. Attendees can enter the Valentine's raffle to win a date with a CLLAW wrestler, complete with a romantic table for two next to the wrestling ring, candlelight and dessert.
Doors open at 9 p.m., with the first match beginning at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance ( at www.CLLAW.org ) or $15 at the door.
All proceeds will benefit Sideshow Theatre Company and this match's community partner, The Chicago Human Rhythm Project.
Proud to Run turning 35
To mark its 35th year, Proud To Run has a variety of events planned for 2016.
The registration fee is $45.
In addition, "Proud To Runway" will take place Saturday, April 23, 5-8 p.m. at Sidetrack, 3349 N. Halsted St. Race day will be Saturday, June 25, at Montrose Harbor at 8:04 a.m.

Chicago Sky opener May 14
Led by the WNBA's reigning MVP Elena Delle Donne, back-to-back Sixth Woman of the Year Allie Quigley and six-time WNBA All-Star Cappie Pondexter, the Chicago Sky begins the 34-game regular season against the Connecticut Sun on Saturday, May 14 at Allstate Arena.
Among other things, Chicago's 2016 schedule features a nationally televised matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks led by Naperville Central High School graduate Candace Parker on May 24.
Additionally, with as many as 25 WNBA players likely to represent their respective countries at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Aug. 5-21, the league has not scheduled any games July 23-Aug. 25. After the 2016 Summer Olympics, the WNBA will tip off the second half of its season on Friday, Aug. 26.

Billie Jean King in town Feb. 11
Former top-ranked professional tennis player and current World TeamTennis co-founder Billie Jean King will speak at The Executives' Club of Chicago's Women's Leadership Breakfast on Thursday, Feb. 11, at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park, 200 N. Columbus Dr.
Registration and networking will take place at 7:15-8 a.m., with the breakfast program at 8-9:15 a.m.
King will discuss how she garnered worldwide recognition and support after being outed publicly in 1981. She will also share how she became a pioneer for the LGBT community and a trailblazer for equal rights. Her discussion is titled, "Overcoming Adversity: Bringing All of Yourself to Everything You Do."

LGBTQ bowlers prepare for Second City tourney
Registration is now open for the 2016 Second City Open Tournament Chicago ( SCOTCH ), which welcomes LGBTQ bowlers to Chicago to compete for fun and prizes.
The third annual event is March 5-6 at the 40-lane Waveland Bowl, 3700 N. Western Ave.
Last year's tournament drew 140 bowlers ( including 19 women ) from Illinois and 10 other states. This year, organizers hope to increase participation to the maximum capacity of 144 bowlers. Both veteran bowlers and newcomers are invited to participate. Whole teams are welcome as well as partial teams and individuals, which can be matched up with others.
Participants and raffle entrants could win a variety of prizes, including cash awards, a new STORM bowling ball or a STORM bowling bag.
The SCOTCH early-bird registration fee is $109. Feb. 20 is the final day to register.
