There were 27 teams, including one from Canada.
Chicago's North End Aces clawed their way back from an 0-5 start, and the bottom seed in the playoffs; to win the 'D' division of the Chi-Town Classic softball tournament.
The victory came in the Aces' first year as a team, and culminated in a grueling double-header with the undefeated Houston Wolves. In the final game, the Aces twice fought their way out of a deficit with the gritty, experienced Houston squad.
'We were very happy and honored to win for Chicago,' said Alan Augustson of North End's team.
