The Minnesota Lynx (6-18) surprised the Chicago Sky (15-6) 81-78 on July 6 at the Target Center.
The loss ended the Sky's five-game winning streak.
The Lynx's Aerial Powers had a double-double, leading both teams with 22 points and a career-high in a regular-season game of 11 rebounds. Kahleah Copper led the Sky with 20 points.
The Sky now head to Indianapolis to play the Indiana Fever on Thursday, July 7. The tipoff at Indiana Farmers Coliseum is at 6 p.m. CT and will be air on Bally Sports Indiana, Marquee Sports Network and TSN.
On July 6, the Chicago Cubs (34-48) rallied for a 2-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers (47-37) in Wisconsin.
According to ESPN, after Brewers starter Corbin Burnes threw seven shutout innings, the Cubs broke through against Milwaukee's bullpen by scoring in each of the last two frames. The Cubs took two of three at Milwaukee and have followed a 10-game losing streak by winning four straight series.
The North Siders now head to Los Angeles to begin a four-game series against the Dodgers starting Thursday, July 7.
The Chicago White Sox (39-41) also won on July 6, defeating the visiting Minnesota Twins (47-36) 9-8 in 10 innings.
Andrew Vaughn tied the game with a two-run homer in the eighth inning, and Leury Garcia hit a game-ending single in the 10th to give the South Siders the win, ESPN noted.
The White Sox trailed five times in the game and tied it each time before taking their first and only lead in extra innings to avoid a three-game sweep. Chicago snapped a seven-game losing streak to the AL Central-leading Twins.
Next, the White Sox welcome Detroit for a three-game series starting Thursday, July 7.
