The Sky remain undefeated in Commissioner's Cup games this season (4-0), and it's the only team without a loss in the Eastern Conference in Commissioner Cup play.
Copper reached 200 career assists while Candace Parker recorded her 144th career double-double, ranking fourth all-time.
The Sky will be back on the road to face the Mystics again on Wed., June 8. The tipoff at Entertainment & Sports Arena will be at 7 p.m. CT, and will air on CBS Sports Network and NBC Sports.
The Chicago Cubs (23-32) concluded their series with the St. Louis Cardinals (32-23) with another loss.
This time, it was a 5-3 setback at Wrigley Field (in 11 innings) on June 5.
The game was special in that it was the culmination of the "Wear Orange Weekend," an anti-gun violence movement spearheaded by the family of Hadiya Pendleton, CBS Chicago noted. The Pendletons threw the first pitch before the game, just days after what would have been Hadiya's 25th birthday.
The Cardinals' Albert Pujols, at DH during the game, continued to inch up baseball's all-time lists, per ESPN. The 42-year-old singled off Patrick Wisdom's glove in the fourth for his 3,319th hit, tying him with Paul Molitor for ninth on the all-time list. He also played in his 3,001 game, tying him with Cal Ripken Jr. for eighth place.
Chicago will now travel to Baltimore to take on the Orioles starting Tuesday, June 7.
In Florida, the Chicago White Sox (25-27) edged the Tampa Bay Rays (31-23) 6-5 on June 5.
The Sox took two of three in the series, with both victories by one run, The Chicago Tribune noted.
The runs came early as the Sox scored four in the first and two in the second. The Rays got within 6-5 after scoring four runs in the sixth.
On Tuesday, June 7, the White Sox will start a three-game homestead against the Los Angeles Dodgers. After that (June 10-12), the South Siders will play a three-game series against the Texas Rangers.
