On June 17, the Chicago Sky (10-4) defeated the Atlanta Dream (7-8) 104-100 in overtime at Wintrust Arena.
Kahleah Copper had 23 points to lead Chicago. The Dream's Cheyenne Parker, who spent her six seasons as a member of the Sky, played her first game as a visitor at Wintrust.
Also of note was that the Sky's Allie Quigley made her 150th career start.
The Sky will head back on the road to play the Indiana Fever on Sunday, June 19. Tipoff at Indiana Farmers Coliseum is at 2 p.m. CT and will air on facebook.com/IndianaFever and CW 26.
At Wrigley Field, the Chicago Cubs (24-40) edged the Atlanta Braves (37-28) 1-0 on June 17.
In doing so, Chicago ended a 10-game skid while halting Atlanta Braves' 14-game win streak. According to ESPN, a pair of double-digit streaks had not ended in the same game since Philadelphia beat Houston on Sept. 15, 1999, ending the Phillies' skid at 11 and the Astros' winning streak at 12.
In addition, Chicago had not won 1-0 since May 28 last year against Cincinnati.
The teams meet again at 1:20 p.m. CT on Saturday, June 18.
Also on June 17, the Chicago White Sox (30-32) lost at the Houston Astros (40-24) 13-3.
The Astros erupted for 10 runs in the sixth inningtheir biggest single-inning outburst in more than five years, according to MLB.com .
The teams will meet again Saturday, June 18, at 3:10 p.m. CT.
