The Second City Tennis Classic, which normally takes place in August, is June 13-15.
This year's classic is also changing locations, moving to the indoor and outdoor facilities of Northwestern University in Evanston.
Other changes for 2014 include a doubles consolation draw for the first time ever, expanded draw sizes and host hotels for visiting players. The Draw Party will be held at Replay on Thursday, June 12. Play begins Friday, June 13, and runs through Sunday, June 15, with semifinals and finals taking place on Sunday.
This is the 26th year of the tournament, and the dates were moved so as not to overlap with the Gay Games taking in place in Cleveland that same weekend. The tournament is sanctioned by the GLTA ( Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance ), which holds tournaments yearly at more than 50 U.S. and international cities.
Registration continues through the end of May for the tournament. For more information, visit sctclassic.com .
