Now and Then is a new romantic relationship musical that follows lovers Daniel and Greg over 40 years of their lives, from meeting in college to middle age. The show uses three actors for each character, seen young, then fully mature and finally approaching senior status. They accompany themselves onstage chiefly on acoustic guitar in folkloric style songs with country influences. Dennis Manning ( who also plays the oldest Daniel ) is composer/lyricist and Ronnie Larsen is book writer/director. Manning is a newcomer to theater, but Larsen is a successful author and producer best known for sexploitation plays such as Making Porn, Peep Show and 10 Naked Men, so a romance is new turf for him. Now and Then is produced by the authors at Pride Films & Plays, 4139 N. Broadway, running through Aug. 11. Tickets: nowandthenmusical.com . |
